Hess Custom Works exists in that gap. The focus is helping turn practical ideas into something that can be held, tested, used, revised, and—when it makes sense—produced again.
That may mean designing a new product from scratch. It may mean recreating an unavailable part, fixing the weak point in an existing design, developing a shop aid, or building the first prototype of a product someone has had in their head for years.
Understand the function first.
A part can look perfect and still be wrong. Fit, load, movement, assembly, maintenance, materials, and actual user behavior all matter.
Practical
Solutions should solve the actual problem without adding complexity just for the sake of complexity.
Iterative
Prototypes are expected to teach us something. Test, revise, improve, and repeat when needed.
